Interior design that holds space for people, culture, and purpose.

About us

At NEST Interiors & Design, we believe good design isn’t just about beautiful things, it’s about creating spaces that help people live, work, and connect in better ways.

Our studio works across residential and commercial projects, but at the heart of it all is people. We listen closely. We design with intention. And we walk alongside our clients, not just as designers, but as advocates and collaborators to bring their ideas to life with clarity and care.

Based in the Waikato and working across Aotearoa, NEST creates spaces that reflect the stories of those who use them.

If you’re visiting NEST with a project in mind, we’d love to hear your story.

Design Director, NEST Interiors & Design

Tonga Robertson

Tonga tapu / auckland

Tonga Robertson is the founder and design director of NEST Interiors & Design. One of Aotearoa’s few qualified Pacific Island female interior designers, she brings a voice that’s deeply underrepresented and deeply needed in the industry.

Originally from Auckland and now based in the Waikato, Tonga’s approach is led by listening. Whether it’s a commercial fit-out, a family home, or a shared community space, she works to understand the people at the centre of each project. Her work is rooted in cultural insight and shaped by bold creativity.  Always aiming to design spaces that express who people are, not just how they live.

At NEST, Tonga leads with calm confidence and clear vision. Balancing creative direction with hands-on project delivery. She’s known for holding space for ideas while keeping things moving, making confident calls that reflect both heart and strategy. It’s this blend of leadership and lived design experience that brings NEST’s projects and people to life.
